CORAL MOONS Perform on MORNING MIX (CBS-TV); At Boston Calling May 27

Taking a break from work on their forthcoming second album, up ‘n coming indie rock group Coral Moons stopped by CBS-TV (channel 4 in Boston) on May 17 to chat with Morning Mix co-hosts Liam Martin and Kate Merrill about their start, their inspirations and a return to Boston Calling on Saturday May 27. The group’s BC debut last year was skirted by rain, mere moments before taking the stage.

In addition to shouting-out who they’re excited to see (Paramore, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Foo Fighters) at the 3-day festival, running May 26-28, at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Cambridge, Carly Kraft (vocals) and Justin Bartlett (guitar) performed fan favorite “Winnebago” (from their debut album Fieldcrest).

The stripped down rendition of their shimmery summer anthem marked the first ever live performance by any artist on the Morning Mix. History in the making.

Other band members joining the morning round table included Manuel Camacho, Kevin Ewer and Miguel Cepeda.

The visit to the CBS affiliate (WBZ) was all a prelude for this weekend’s big event.

With headliners Paramore, Foo Fighters (with new drummer Josh Freese) and The Lumineers joining the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alanis Morissette, Queens of the Stone Age, The National, The Flaming Lips, Alisa Amador, 070 Shake, Noah Kahan, Fletcher, Niall Horan, Celisse, Maren Morris and Chelsea Cutler to make it one of the best festivals of the year, Boston Calling also recognizes the stars of tomorrow on the Tivoli Audio Orange Stage.

Featuring all New England artists, blazing the Orange Stage (along with Coral Moons) are Little Fuss, Couch, Najee Janey, Actor Observer, Chrysalis, Ali McGuirk, Sorry Mom, Summer Cult, Workman Song, Blue Light Bandits and Brandie Blaze.

Rocking the masses from 4:05-4:35pm on Saturday (May 27), Coral Moons then zip over to Brighton Music Hall in Allston that night for the official Boston Calling After Party with GA-20. Doors at 10:30, show at 11pm. Tix on sale now.
