Make Music Temecula, a charitable non-profit established to provide an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels, interests, and walks of life and singer-songwriter-activist-entrepreneur Joanna Pearl have partnered with the Ontario Reign hockey club for their annual Teddy Bear Toss, one of the most eagerly-anticipated home games of the year at Toyota Arena.
Founded in 2007 as an affiliate of the LA Kings, the Reign compete in the Pacific Division of the 32-team American Hockey League (AHL). This year’s Teddy Bear Toss is scheduled for Saturday, December 17 when the Reign take on division rivals, the Bakersfield Condors.
The Toss will commence once the Reign score a goal. Past years have seen thousands of teddy bears fill the ice with the stuffed friends then donated to Toys for Tots and other organizations to find forever homes. It’s an exciting moment that fans look forward to all year.
To bolster their mission of education and equal opportunity, Make Music Temecula are offering a series of sponsorships to get involved, both for individuals and businesses. Available items include tickets to the game and an assortment of plush teddy bears including one giant 5-foot bear.
Each person or organization who purchases a sponsorship is immediately anointed a VIP, a Very Important Pearl, with all sponsorships tax-deductible.

Pearl will be on hand to sing the National Anthem at 6pm just before puck drop (she’s previously done the Anthem at a Reign Teddy Bear Toss game, an LA Galaxy home opener and others). Other upcoming performances include a special Habitat For Humanity Inland Valley Holiday event at the Promenade Mall in Temecula, CA on December 16 (at 7pm) and then she’ll be a featured guest performer at the ‘Champions for Cures and Care’ Gala in San Francisco on Friday, January 20. The annual star-studded affair is hosted by the Golden West Chapter of The ALS Association.
“I’m so excited to partner with Make Music Temecula and the Ontario Reign to make a difference in children’s lives this Holiday season. I sang the national anthem for Ontario Reign Teddy Bear Toss once before and was able to raise funds to donate 100 teddy bears. This year my goal is 200 teddy bears and we’re so close to that goal! I love that I am able to incorporate events like this. Giving back and making a difference warms my heart so much!,” said Pearl.
Also on January 20, she’ll release a remix EP for “I Am Woman,” her acclaimed empowerment anthem that she showcased on the Live Nation Women Stage during the iVoted Festival last month. She opened the performance with a rendition of “America The Beautiful.”
