Vocalist Ariella McManus and guitarist Nicolaas Kraster, of soul/blues/jazz duo ARIELLA, recently joined SNN-TV’s Annette Gutierrez to discuss playing ‘Cabaret by the Bay‘ at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, Florida, one of their first in-person shows since the start of the pandemic.
“Musicians, especially in this country aren’t what anyone really cares about when things are falling apart, so it was ok for a while, but now it’s like kind of being forced back into work, whether we want to or not if we want to eat,” Guitarist of ARIELLA, Nicolaas Kraster said.”
“It’s kind of a new emotion of being relieved and terrified at the same time,” Singer, Ariella McManus said.
Last month, ARIELLA released the smoldering ballad, “Terrified,” recorded live at the Ghost Motel, a state-of-the-art production studio in Tampa Bay.
The song features additional production from Fabrice Dupont, known for his work with Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lopez, Andre 3000, Shakira, Les Nubians, Bebel Gilberto, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
On the heels of the sold out shows at Van Wezel, the pair have a full slate of in-person gigs thru the end of the year.
