Presented by Dickson Productions, the acclaimed MusicFest, held at Steamboat Ski & Resort, is the only festival that brings the finest Texas and Americana music to the snow, sweeping the Colorado Rockies for a full week of sport and song.
Over six days from January 5-10, fans will be treated to 200+ hours of live performances featuring free après-ski concerts, evening concerts at varied locations and special engagements. This year’s edition features an increasingly diverse line up of artists with styles ranging from country to rock, blues to bluegrass, folk and western swing and everything in between.

The appearances will continue to promote his critically-acclaimed sophomore album, Johnny Chops & The Razors. Christened, “Powerful, lyrically and musically,” by The Rock Father Magazine, the album was co-produced by Reckless Kelly guitarist David Abeyta, who helped Johnny establish a signature sound, one that Glide Magazine dubbed “an eclectic mix of bluesy southern boogie, vintage tones, southern soul, and pure rock ’n’ roll.” Americana tastemaker No Depression championed “Ten Cent Talkers,” the album’s rambunctious third single.
During the course of the 11-track trek, Richardson guides the listener on an expansive journey of geography and history. From the foot-stomping Louisiana grit of “Believer,” to the Southern muscle of “Medicine,” from the soulful Memphis swing of “Tombstone Flowers,” and “Taking a Chance on Me,” to the bluesy Texas twang of “Ten Cent Talkers,” and “Gimme Sugar,” to the Motown boogie-woogie of “Rock Bottom, to the Crossroads-inducing, gut-check of the blistering 7-minute “Only When You’re Breathing,” Chops and The Razors aptly strut their stuff.
Logging 100-150 dates per year, playing solo shows and touring throughout the U.S. with Randy Rogers Band, with whom he’s played bass since 2002, Richardson will be on the road throughout 2019.
