JOHNNY CHOPS “Taking A Chance On Me” Video Premiere Via GLIDE

Austin singer-songwriter Johnny “Chops” Richardson has issued the official music video for “Taking A Chance On Me” with an exclusive premiere via Glide Magazine, who noted, “The video captures the chemistry of a band easily able to tap into a laid back Southern rock groove. At the helm is none other than Johnny, who steers the music with his relaxed vocals, exuding just the right amount of soul and roots rocker energy. As a whole, the tune has a bluesy, southern boogie sound with an infectious, uplifting chorus.”
Joining Johnny on Taking A Chance are “The Razors,” which include Chris Compton on drums, Aden Bubeck on bass, Todd Stewart (from Randy Rogers Band) on keys, Eric “Ebo” Borash on lead guitar and Bryan and James Lott from the Gospel Starz on backup vocals.
The video also includes a show-stealing cameo from Emmylou, Johnny’s lovable Basset hound (his other Basset hound, pictured below, is Reggie).
“Taking A Chance On Me” was produced by David Abeyta (of Reckless Kelly) and is from Johnny’s forthcoming sophomore album, Johnny Chops & The Razors, due out March 23.
As a lead-up to the album release, Chops is set to hit the road with some solo shows in Texas before embarking on a nationwide trek with Randy Rogers Band, whom he’s the bassist for.
