Known as “Hollywood’s Guitar Teacher,” singer-songwriter Carlos Calvo has taught actors David Duchovny (X-Files, Californication, Aquarius), Rob Morrow (Northern Exposure, Billions, The People vs. OJ Simpson), Ambyr Childers (Ray Donovan) and Marg Helgenberger (CSI, China Beach, Under The Dome) how to play. He was also the guitar teacher for a young student named Adam Levine (Maroon 5, The Voice).
Carlos recently chatted with Icon Fetch host Tony Peters about working with David Duchovny, being on the set of Californication and a typical day in the life of a Hollywood Guitar Coach.
He also discusses the exhilaration of having his song “Out and About” (co-written w/ Rob Morrow) featured on a recent episode of the hit show The Fosters (ABC Family/Freeform) and digs into the memory bank to tell a few tales about hanging out at Al DiMeola’s house for crazy jam sessions and life lessons learned along the way which comprise Further Down the Line, his first new album in 15 years.
